The new Powertap P2 pedals are the improved version of the P1 pedals.
The force applied to the pedals is still measured individually for each leg. This allows the precise assessment of the left-right balance. The integrated design makes external pedal pods unnecessary , which makes installation much easier.
When using the Powertap P2 pedal power meter, you can install or swap your power meters now by simply installing pedals. All you need is an Allen key. Furthermore, there is no need for a lengthy calibration process. You don't have to set up installation angles. The Powertap P2 is a true plug 'n play system.
In addition to ANT+, the P2 also communicates via bluetooth. This means you can pair the P2 with a large number of cycling computers and smart phones. The P2 is powered by a standard AAA battery that will last now about 80h of riding.
Each strain gauge of the P2 is equipped with a temperature sensor. The use of technology enables the P2 to automatically compensate for temperature changes and therefore ensures precise power measurement in changing weather conditions.
The release force of the P2 can be adjusted. It can manually be adjusted to between 6 and 20 Nm. Wear parts, such as bearings can be replaced. Electronic parts are safely built into the body of the pedal. According to Powertap the P2 will sustain a variety of mechanical forces, such as when you take a turn a bit too tight and slightly scrape the inside pedal on the ground.
The Powertap P2 pedals have no rider weight limit.
